Congratulations Clifton Recreation Center

The Clifton neighborhood has received quite a gem! The grand re-opening of the newly renovated Clifton Recreation Center was held earlier this week. Neighborhood residents joined Vice Mayor David Mann, City Manager Harry Black and other city dignitaries to officially open the facility.

Play Pickleball with CRC

Pickleball is a sport for all ages – youth, teen, adults and seniors. It is a quick, fast-paced game played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles. Pickleball is played indoors in a gym or outdoors on a modified/smaller tennis court (44’ x 20’).

CRC’s Miracle League Players at RedsFest

Miracle League baseball players made dreams come true on Saturday, December 6 at RedsFest – a Cincinnati Reds two-day fan fest at the Duke Energy Convention Center, downtown Cincinnati. Miracle League players played an adapted game of baseball on the indoor Gorilla Glue Field of Dreams. Players and their families enjoyed three innings in which everyone had a chance to hit balls pitched from professional Reds player Jay Bruce.

CRC’s Miracle League was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Green Diamond Gallery's Character and Courage Foundation. Miracle League Baseball offers athletes with or without disabilities an opportunity to have fun and participate in an organized and competitive league. Train Now to be a CRC Lifeguard Next Summer

Yes, it’s time to think about a job for next summer! CRC will hire more than 300 lifeguards to staff the pools for the 2015 summer, and now is your chance to start training for it.

The next lifeguard training class begins Friday, December 5 at 5:45 p.m. at Mt. Auburn Indoor Pool; 2034 Young St. 45219. Class runs Fridays 5:30 – 9:00 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. for two weekends through December 14.

CRC, Children’s Hunger Alliance to Offer Hot Meal Pilot Program in Recreation Centers

Cincinnati Recreation Commission and the Children’s Hunger Alliance are partnering to offer youth and teens hot meals in some of Cincinnati’s most challenging neighborhoods. The free Hot Meal Pilot Program is now available in five neighborhood recreation centers: Hirsch, Bush, Millvale, Winton Hills and Evanston Recreation Centers.
