This inclusive playground will take accessibility to the max – encouraging children and adults of all abilities to enjoy playtime together.
There are three components to consider when designing an inclusive playground:
• physical accessibility
• age and developmental appropriateness, and
• sensory-stimulating activity.
The inclusive playground at the LeBlond Regional RecPlex will create a play environment that meets and exceeds the levels of all three components.
Accessible Playground Features include:
• Cincinnati’s first outdoor electronic playground component, combining the speed and action of video games with movement and exercise.
• Double-wide ramping
• Slides, swings and climbing elements
• Musical instrument section
• Interactive panels at every level
• Specialized rubber safety surface
• Shade structures
• Seating areas for family members
