The City of Cincinnati will honor 2009 holidays on the dates shown below. When your regular trash collection day falls on the date shown, your garbage will be collected the following day. Collections for the remainder of the week will be delayed one day. Please note Independence Day and Columbus Day exceptions.

• New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1, 2009
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 19, 2009
• Presidents' Day, Monday, February 16, 2009
• Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2009
• Independence Day, July 4, 2009--Since Independence day falls on Saturday this year, Friday Garbage Collection will occur on Friday, July 3, 2009, even though the City observes that Friday as a holiday.
• Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2009
• Columbus Day, Monday, October 12, 2009-- service will not be altered. Monday collection will occur on Columbus Day.
• Veterans' Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2009
• Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26, 2009
• Christmas, Friday, December 25, 2009

Reminder: Place trash at your curb by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day and no earlier than 5:00 p.m. the preceding day.  Waste containers must be removed before the end of the day on which the waste was collected.

Call the Customer Service Hotline at 591-6000 to schedule collection of:

• Large bulky items
• Appliances
• Tires

We may suspend collection of bulky items or yard waste due to severe weather.

• Yard Waste & Christmas Trees MUST BE SCHEDULED from January 5, 2009 through March 27, 2009 by calling 591-6000.
• NO PLASTIC, WIRE OR DUCT TAPE will be accepted.
• Yard Waste should be placed in brown paper bags or cans clearly marked "YARD WASTE."
• Construction and demolition debris will not be accepted.
• Raking leaves into the street or the right-of-way is prohibited and is punishable by law.

Curbside Recycling and Yard Waste Recycling are collected on the same day as your trash collection.
