Crimestoppers Text Messaging Tipline Debuts

On Wednesday May 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Woodward Career Technical High School Atrium, 7005 Reading Road, Mayor Mark Mallory, Police Chief Thomas H. Streicher Jr., Cincinnati Public Schools Chief Operations Officer Tom Gunnell, Cincinnati Bell President and CEO Jack Cassidy and Woodward junior Dominique Bettis will introduce the newest enhancement to Greater Cincinnati’s well established Crime Stoppers program:  text messaging tips to 352-3050.

As the communication tool increasingly popular with young people, texting complements Crime Stoppers’ telephone and web-based anonymous tip lines 352-3040 and  tipcincinnati.com .  The partners in this project have worked to develop an affordable and accessible technology for expanding the reach of our community’s efforts to stem crime and violence.  Teens in Student Crime Stoppers provided ideas on ways to spread the word to their peers that fighting crime can be as quick and easy as texting a friend.
