Written exams to select recruits for the Cincinnati Police Department will be held April 14 and April 28 at the Duke Convention Center, 525 Elm Street. The deadline for applications is April 20, and there are several ways to apply:

In person at the City of Cincinnati’s Human Resources Department, Two Centennial Plaza, Suite 200 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday;

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or in the process of applying for citizenship. They must have a high school diploma or equivalent (although college education is preferred). They must be 21 years old by the date of appointment as a police recruit. They must reside within Hamilton County by the date of appointment as a police recruit and remain a Hamilton County resident for the duration of their employment. They must have a driver’s license that has been valid for at least one year.
The Police Department offers a liberal employee benefit package including medical, dental and vision insurance coverage; pension plan; college credit for Police Academy training; and tuition reimbursement. Honorably discharged military veterans receive an additional five points on the civil service test score for police recruit. Disabled veterans receive ten points on the test.
