Online Crime Reporting System

 

 

Welcome to the Cincinnati Police Department's Citizens Online Crime Reporting System. The Online Crime Reporting System is designed to make it easier and more convenient to file request for a police report without leaving home, however not every crime can be reported using this online system.

If this is an Emergency please dial 9-1-1 immediately If a crime is in progress or someone is hurt, threatened, or in danger, dial 9-1-1 immediately.

 

 

Using the Cincinnati Police Department's Online Citizen Crime Reporting System allows you to submit a request for a report immediately.

 

 

This system can be used to report the following incidents:

Property Damage - Accidental               Lost Property                                    Harassing Phone Call

Property Damage - Intentional               Theft from Motor Vehicle                 Petty Theft

 

Users who answer “YES” to any of the questions below must call the Cincinnati Police Department's Non Emergency number 513-765-1212 to determine if an officer will respond to take a report. Please make sure to turn off your pop-up blocking software before filing the report.

  • Is this is an Emergency or is a crime in progress? (Please call 911)
  • Is there more than one victim and/or vehicle involved in the incident?
  • Is someone other than yourself the registered and/or legal owner of the affected vehicle or property?
  • Are you reporting a lost or stolen license plate?
  • Are you reporting a vehicle crash or a hit-skip?
  • Are you reporting a theft offense of stolen property valued at more than $5,000?
  • Are you reporting a theft offense, and the stolen property is a firearm (gun), license plates, a stolen motor vehicle, or hazardous material?
  • Are you reporting intentional Property Damage, and the damage is valued at more than $5,000?
  • Is there evidence to indicate that this is a hate crime or bias related?
  • Is there any physical evidence connected to the crime that needs to be collected (i.e blood, obvious fingerprints, item(s) left behind by the offender)?

Upon completion of this report process you will:

  • See the words: "your online police report request has been submitted" showing that your police report request is complete.
  • Be given a temporary police report number.
  • Be notified of any problems with your report once it has been viewed by a CPD staff member.
  • Be able to print a copy of the request (not an official report) to keep for your records.

Filing a false police report is a crime. You must be 18 or older to use the Online Crime Reporting System. Before you begin, be sure you have a valid email address, pop-up blocking software is turned off, and you have all the information related to the incident available in front of you.

If your online report request is approved by a CPD staff member, you will receive a permanent case number and a .pdf copy of your request as an attachment by email within approximately five business days. Please note the following:

 

  • All police report requests filed online will be reviewed by a CPD staff member before being accepted by the Cincinnati Police Department.
  • Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted.
  • In the attached copy of your request, sensitive information has been replaced with ****** in order to maintain privacy in emails.
  • An official copy of your finalized police report can be obtained by contacting the Cincinnati Police Department’s Record Section.  Please allow up to three days after your request has been approved to obtain a finalized copy of the official report.
