Night to Unite brings children and CPD Officers together
Monday April 7 at Lincoln Recreation Center
WHAT: Children between the ages of 7 and 10 from the West End community will enjoy a pizza party, play games, and have some fun while they get to know the police officers who work in their neighborhood. It’s the fourth annual Night to Unite, sponsored by the University of Cincinnati Criminal Justice Learning Community and designed to build relationships between members of law enforcement and people in the community they serve. The event began four years ago as a “Better Place Project” for UC criminal justice students to identify a social issue and a plan to improve it. To strengthen communication and understanding between police officers and community members, they organized an event to bring people together. In addition to food and games, the children can interact one-on-one with police officers and check out police motorcycles, bikes and Segways.
WHEN: Monday April 7 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
WHERE: Lincoln Recreation Center, 1027 Linn Street
