City Launches New Performance Management Agreement Dashboards

Aug 09, 2017

CINCINNATI – The City of Cincinnati has launched a series of new dashboards highlighting the accomplishments of various City Departments compared to their outlined Performance Agreements.

Performance Agreements are annual agreements between the City Manager and Department heads outlining target performance for core services and identifying key initiatives. These agreements provide a complete picture of Department performance using:

  • Balanced sets of metrics and performance indicators used to regularly evaluate performance
  • Priorities clearly articulated throughout the respective organization
  • Clear, meaningful, targeted results agencies should deliver each year

Each of these 22 Performance Agreements has been reimagined by the Office of Performance & Data Analytics in an interactive, graphical format to provide an enhanced structure, look and feel. All Performance dashboards feature three sections, profiling department performance in three ways: strategic priorities; budget and spending; and employee profile.

They are available for viewing as part of the City’s CincyInsights portal. The complete list of dashboards is available below.

“All that we do with respect to performance and data analytics is about transparency, improved customer service and creating inherent accountability for combined performance,” wrote City Manager Harry Black in a memo to the Mayor and City Council on Wednesday. “These results demonstrate the continued evolution and development of the City’s efforts to use data to make Cincinnati the best managed City in the country.”

All data used to power this dashboard may be found on the City’s Open Data Portal. Community feedback is welcome and necessary. To support this endeavor, a feedback survey is located at the bottom of each performance profile page.
