Flash Revelry Pop-Up Theater

Team led by Alexis Kidd and Paula Sherman

Art, culture and entertainment are three obvious ways to help foster a relationship between a community and the group of people who live there. That’s the overall goal of the Flash Revelry Pop-Up Theater, which aims to provide residents of all ages with fun cultural enrichment events throughout the West End neighborhood.

Through this unique programming the residents of the West End will improve their relationships with each other while possibly developing stronger, most positive feelings about the place they call home. Events will range from performances by local ballet companies to fine art demonstrations to various live performers. It will also entail hosting traditional community-building events such as cook-outs and a community theater.

This program also includes the greater use of obvious outdoor spaces like parks but also otherwise unutilized vacant lots as well. Anchor facilities in the West End such as Seven Hills Neighborhood Houses, the YMCA and local schools will also be used as event spaces and possibly partner on some events.

And we can’t forget the food. Whether it’s donated by a West End eatery or prepared by residents of the community, food will be abundant at Flash Revelry Pop-Up events
