Cincinnati Neighborhood Games
Team led by Henry Frondorf
Cincinnati Neighborhood Games is a field day-type, Cincy-wide, Olympic-like competition full of sports and other events.
Each of Cincinnati’s 52 neighborhoods held qualifiers in 20 different competitions in adult and youth categories beginning in April. Winners of the qualifiers received a t-shirt to represent their neighborhood at the City-Wide Neighborhood Games at Washington Park in July.
Opening Ceremonies with a Parade of Neighborhoods took place July 9. The International Olympic-style games are from July 10-16, and medals are being awarded after each event. The Neighborhood with the highest medal count will be this year’s winner of Cincinnati Neighborhood Games.
The organizers’ goal is to bring neighbors closer, promote community pride, and for people of different neighborhoods and backgrounds to interact in a fun and positive atmosphere.
