District 1 Fire Chief, Lou Arnold reported on a One-Alarm structure fire that occurred in the East Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati this evening. At approximately 6:40 PM, the Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center received a call for the smell of smoke in a home.
On arrival, initial companies found a working fire coming through the roof of the third floor, of a three story with attic, two-family dwelling. An interior fire attack brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. The fire appears to have originated in the attic area of the third floor. Tenants were home at the time and evacuated the building safely.
Damage from the fire is estimated at $30,000 and is currently under investigation. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries. Two additional engine companies were called due to initial water problems caused by the weather. Forty firefighters were utilized at this incident.
