One Alarm Structure Fire at 2401 Ingleside Ave. in Walnut Hills

District Fire Chief Gregory A. Potter reported on a One-Alarm structure fire plus an additional Engine Company that occurred in the Walnut Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati in the late afternoon of August 13, 2013. At 17:03 PM Engine 23 received a call on their department phone reporting a cabin on fire at 2401 Ingleside Ave.

Initial arriving fire companies reported a fully involved two-story log cabin over the hillside at 2401 Ingleside Ave. with an exposure cabin on the “D” side. An aggressive exterior attack over very rough and difficult terrain successfully protected the exposure building. The cabin of fire origin was a total loss and was brought under control in approximately 45 minutes. The cabin was vacant at the time of the fire.

Damage is estimated at $250,000. There were no reported injuries. There were 37 firefighters that responded to this incident. Cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Cincinnati Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit. Fire personnel remained on the scene for approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.
