ONE-ALARM STRUCTURE FIRE 500 Camden Avenue – S. Avondale

District Fire Chief Michael A. Washington Sr. reported on a One-Alarm structure fire that occurred in neighborhood of South Avondale at 500 Camden Avenue. At 7:41 PM the Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received several simultaneous   telephone calls reporting a structure fire in the area of Camden and Washington Avenues. 

Upon arrival, fire companies reported a “working fire” in a fully involved brick split-level single family (private) dwelling, which was either vacant or unoccupied. Firefighters conducted a risk assessment and decided to fight this fire defensively, there were no other buildings in close proximity. 

Firefighters utilized exterior hoselines and elevated aerial ladder “master” stream devices to bring this fire under control.  The fire was brought under control within an hour. The structure is a total loss. The structure is valued at $108,000.00. The cause and origin of this fire is undetermined.  Forty-six firefighters were utilized at this incident. There were no reports of injuries to firefighters.
