District Chief Thomas Parker, Cincinnati Fire Department, reported on a 1 alarm structure fire that occurred in the Northside neighborhood this evening.
Fire crews were dispatched to 1778 Townsend St. at approximately 6:53pm. for a report of a fire in the house.
First arriving fire companies reported a working fire in a 2 story with attic, single family dwelling.
Heavy fire was found on the first floor of the building, with fire burning through the floor to the basement area.
An aggressive interior fire attack brought the fire under control in about 15 minutes. The fire was contained to the first floor with heavy smoke and heat damage throughout the entire dwelling.
The fire was discovered by the owner when she arrived home, so the house was unoccupied at the time.
There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel.
Damage is estimated at $30,000.
The cause appears to be unattended incense left burning in the home when the owner left earlier.
