THE VOLUNTEER VINE
What a Difference These Companies Made in a Day! Recently, several companies met a challenge issued by Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory to provide a small army of volunteers to dig in and clean up downtown, and make a big difference. On May 30, 2008, 8 companies sent 1,000 employees to points in the downtown area, including Washington Park in Over The Rhine, the Civic Garden Center's community gardens near downtown, and the Ohio Riverfront area where ground breaks in September for Cincinnati Riverfront Park. Who were these everyday heroes: They came from: Duke Energy, GE Aviation, Convergys, The Home Depot, Best Buy, PNC Bank, The Nielsen Company and Fifth Third Bank. If your company wants to "give back" to the community while enjoying a unique team-building experience, contact Ruthann Spears with Cincinnati Parks at 513-861-8970 or

Your company can also help by pledging donations. Pledge Connect Link. Thank You

Monthly Stewardship Projects
You can make a big impact in one day by volunteering for one—or more!—of our monthly stewardship projects:
July 12, 2008: Vine removal & timber stand improvement at Alms Park
Each month the Cincinnati Parks will be hosting a stewardship project in one of our parks to give you the opportunity to help our community.
If you or a group would like to volunteer for any of these projects, please e-mail

Maintain Landscape at Liberty Green
If you love to garden, we’d love to have you help maintain the landscape at Liberty Green.
