The Banks Earns Award Of Merit In Engineering News Record-Midwest Competition
The Banks Project earned the Award of Merit in the Engineering News Record-Midwest Best Projects 2012 competition, an annual program recognizing outstanding design and construction in a variety of categories.
Panelists selected winning projects on the basis of design and construction quality, innovation, safety and the ability of their project teams to overcome unique challenges. ENR judging panelists selected honorees in categories ranging from Civil, Government Buildings and Landscaping to Multifamily Residential, Transportation and Sports Facilities. The Banks Project was entered in the "Best Landscape, Hardscape, Urban Development Project” category, where 31st Street Harbor of Chicago was named Midwest category winner.
John Deatrick, The Banks Project Executive, highlighted the challenges presented by the Ohio River flood plain in planning, designing and building The Banks in the nomination.
"ENR's Award of Merit is a tribute to the entire Project Team and its contractors. The citizens of the region now enjoy the award-winning riverfront like never before, thanks to the City’s and the County’s successful collaboiration with Carter-Dawson and multiple funding partners," Deatrick said.
All projects will be honored in Chicago on Nov. 29 and featured in the Nov. 26 edition of ENR Midwest.
