Cincinnati Parks Foundation Announces Executive Director
The Cincinnati Parks Foundation today announced that Susan L. Dorward has been named Executive Director.
Ms. Dorward will provide leadership in directing fundraising and volunteer advocacy activities, as well as provide support for the Foundation's financial direction.
Director of Parks, Willie Carden said, "I am pleased to have Ms. Dorward join the Park Board and Parks Foundation team. She brings with her many years of outstanding fundraising success that will further the Parks Foundation's mission to preserve and enhance our City's parks and greenspaces."
Parks Foundation President Judy Dalambakis remarked, "The Foundation's objectives are to advocate, educate, friend raise and fund raise for our amazing Parks. Ms. Dorward will be instrumental in these endeavors and I look forward to working with someone with such a wealth of experience."
Ms. Dorward previously served in fundraising leadership roles at the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and ArtsWave, formerly known as the Fine Arts Fund. She recently directed the YMCA's $4 million capital campaign in addition to overseeing all fundraising activities. During her career, Ms. Dorward has raised more than $110 million in funds for local non-profit organizations.
On her selection as the Parks Foundation’s Executive Director, Ms. Dorward stated, "I am thrilled to join an organization supporting a cause for which I am deeply passionate. I look forward to working with an outstanding staff and Board to build on the great successes the Parks have enjoyed over these past few years."
Susan Dorward will officially join the Cincinnati Parks Foundation as Executive Director on April 8, 2013. Her experience and knowledge will greatly enhance the fundraising and advocacy efforts of the Parks Foundation, and in turn our City's majestic parks and greenspaces.
