District Four Fire Chief Tom Lakamp reported on a one-alarm fire at 1908 Seymour Avenue which is the former location of the Academy of Multi-Lingual Immersion School. Upon arrival fire companies found heavy smoke coming from the roof of the structure. Firefighters had to search through the large structure to locate the origin of the fire.
The fire was controlled within thirty minutes and damages are estimated at $40,000. There were no operating fire alarms or smoke detectors within the structure. The Cincinnati Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of this fire. Thirty-two firefighters responded to this incident and no injuries were reported.
