District Three-Fire Chief Glenn Coleman reported on a one-alarm fire that occurred in Avondale at 3052 Kerper Avenue.
At 7:29 pm Cincinnati fire fighters responded to a report of a one-alarm fire at 3052 Kerper Avenue. Upon arrival, they found medium smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story dwelling. Fire fighters quickly knocked down the fire and confined it to a second floor bedroom. The bedroom suffered heavy fire damage, and smoke damage occurred to the structure’s second floor. Twenty-eight fire fighters were used to battle the blaze.
There was a smoke alarm present but it did not operate. The fire loss is listed at $30,000.
Two adults and one child were displaced from their home and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The fire cause is undetermined and being investigated by the Cincinnati Fire Investigation Unit.
