New Cincinnati Fire Recruits To Start Drill School On Aug. 26, 2013
The Cincinnati Fire Department is excited to announce that 39 new fire recruits will begin drill school on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at 8 a.m. at the Cincinnati Fire Training Center at 564 West Liberty (Engine 29).
This class is unique because they’ll be the second fire recruit class whose salary is completely funded for the next two years from a grant provided by the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)’s Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants (SAFER) Program.
The recruits will train for the next six months, with an expected graduation date in February of 2014.
"The Cincinnati Fire Department is eager to hire the new fire recruits. This class represents another positive turn to help fill a critical gap in our daily operations," stated Cincinnati Fire Chief Richard Braun.
