Holiday Trash Amnesty Extended To Jan. 17, 2014
Extreme Cold May Lead To Service Delays
This week's bitter cold weather is causing some delays in waste collection around the city of Cincinnati.
Currently, Sanitation crews are running about a day to a day-and-a-half behind schedule.
Residents should still set out their trash (and recycling) carts on their normal scheduled collection day.
However, residents are asked to be patient and leave their carts at the curb until the trash and recycling are collected. If necessary, Sanitation crews will continue work on Saturday to catch up with this week's collection.
The City of Cincinnati is also extending its Winter Holiday Trash Amnesty through Friday, Jan. 17, 2014.
Residents may set out extra trash in sealed plastic trash bags next to their City-provided trash cart. Plastic bags should not be overstuffed.
Amnesty weeks are centered around holidays when households typically generate more trash than normal.
Residents must still call 591-6000 to schedule a special pickup for bulky items.
